The Ordinary Things

For a long time, I believed there was a secular part to my life and there was the spiritual side. I am not talking about living a double-sided fake life, instead I had the assumption that God was only interested in somethings and those were the things that give Him glory. To me everything else was not as important to God.

Well guess what?? Life in its entirety is spiritual. God is just as concerned about who we are on Sundays when we put on our best dress and who we are when we put on our nicely fitted pant suits on Mondays. God loves our praise and worship, but He also loves when we take even the basic aspects of our lives, the seemingly ordinary things and glorify Him through them. It all comes down to living with the consciousness of who you are and whose you are.

Even though your boss is mean and unappreciative, you still give your best knowing like Colossians 3:23 says; you are doing it as unto God and not unto man. You take your breathing, walking, sleeping as worship; surrendering all each day to Him to be used for His glory. God wants to be glorified in your life and not just on Sundays, He wants it every day.

So dear friends, it is time for us to take the ordinary things of life and present them to God as an offering.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 (The Message Translation)

Are you ready to submit your life to God today?
